5 last-minute NYE outfits already in your closet
BY EMILY FARAONE
NYE outfits are historically a LOOK. I’ve put pressure on having a killer NYE look in years past. 2 years ago, clothing stores were filled with their usual sparkle and velvet in preparations for all the New Year’s Eve outfits. We may all have pieces in our closets that are strictly for NYE or other special celebrations. It is fun to have those special times to dress up!
With NYE celebrations still not back in full swing this year, you may be missing the hunt for the perfect NYE look. If you still want to dress up, but with it only being a couple of days away, I’ve compiled some New Year’s Eve outfit inspiration. These outfits include staples that you’ll likely already have in your closet. They are perfect for your low-key New Year’s Eve while still being photo-worthy.
Classic jeans & a festive top
Grab your go-to jeans, but then contrast them with a fun top. Think outside the box here, have a scarf top? Complete the look with an elevated shoe.

Slip dress & a blazer
This outfit is sophisticated, but also surprisingly comfortable! Grab your slip dress or other solid dress and pair it with any blazer. If you live in a colder climate, upgrade to a heavier winter coat.

black outfit
An all-black outfit always has an elevated feel to it. Play with different pieces you have. If you are overwhelmed because you have a lot of black items in your closet, first decide which proportions you want. Want a form-fitting look? Or loose on top and slim on the bottom?

Go Monochromatic
Like the idea of a monochromatic look, but not black? Try another color! Winter white is classic, but you could also go bold and colorful. This is perfect if you want a look with layers. We have a whole Pinterest board of monochromatic looks if you get stuck! Browse it here.

Cozy Chic
Perfect for a NYE at home or with close friends. Achieving this look is all about balancing comfort pieces with elevated ones. This look can be achieved in many different ways. I’m loving an oversized shirtdress with boots. You can use a button up shirt, sweater, sweatshirt, or tee shirt depending on your climate. Try contrasting a graphic tee or sweatshirt with trousers. Accessories are also important here to make sure that the outfit feels polished.
